Episode 446: UVF set to transition from terror group to community political movement

Eight leaders of the East Belfast UVF crime gang have been stood down in extraordinary scenes aimed at cleaning up the image of an organisation now being funded to transition from a paramilitary grouping to a community-based political movement.

At the heart of the shock cull is the group's links to drug dealing which has long been a source of funding outside the official state monies being pumped in to the UVF since the ceasefire.

So what is going on inside the Mafia-style outfit and what does the future hold for the tight knit grouping from the Shankill Road?
