Crying over empty bottles of shampoo and discovering the new you; with Megan Austwick

Hi everyone!

Welcome to this week's episode of the Dead Parent Club podcast!

This week's fellow DPC member is Megan. Megan's Dad died suddenly in November 2017 from a cardiac arrest whilst away with work. People told her not to make any big decisions whilst she was in the midst of her grief but Megan had other plans! In the following months she bought a house that needed major renovations, bought a new car, and went on holidays of a lifetime and looked, to others, like she was 'living her best life'.

Internally, things couldn't have looked more different. Megan was struggling with her own mental wellbeing whilst trying to hold down her job and her friendships and relationships. It was when she began crying over an empty bottle of shampoo in the shower that she realised she desperately needed to seek help.

Since then, she's undergone counselling and has even started her own blog! She also has a passion for cardiology and dedicates a lot of her free time learning more so that she can help others.

We also discuss relationships and how hard they can be to navigate, dating once you've had a major loss and how you have to take time to discover who you are again.

I hope you enjoy this week's episode! You can reach out to Megan on Instagram: @meganaustwick
