The Masterclass Episode 39 | Manchester United v Leeds United | Points Shared in Bore Draw

Welcome to Episode 39 of The Masterclass in association with Sport Social.

This week Haider Rubbani & Rob Blanchette sit down to analyse Manchester United's tactical performance against Marcelo Bielsa's all action Leeds United. This is the first meeting between the sides at Elland Road in the league since 2003. After an eventful week or so with the European Super League debacle and the growing #GlazersOut protests, Ole will be hoping to secure 3 points away at their bitter rivals. It has been a week where we have seen the footballing community united and rally together against the greed of the Top 6 owners. The players and fans alike will be looking forward to focussing on proceedings on the pitch in this mouth watering clash. Manchester United smashed Leeds 6-2 at Old Trafford earlier in the season with a fantastic performance by Scott Mctominay, who grabbed 2 goals in the first 10 minutes.

Leeds are in great form and have gone five games unbeaten, taking points off teams like Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool in that time. United are also on a good run themselves, with five straight wins in all competitions since they went out of the FA Cup to Leicester. The points were shared in this stalemate as United failed to create any meaningful chances to win the game. Leeds were certainly more streetwise and sat in a mid block which United struggled to breakdown.A first half to forget with the men in red struggling to retain and create in the final third. Although United created more chances than the home side, they failed to create anything clear cut. All in all, a game to forget for the Red side of Manchester. Next up, Roma.
