Andrew Isker, The Boniface Option, and how to change the world

Andrew Isker, The Boniface Option, and how to change the world

In this episode, Stuart Amidon interviews Andrew Isker, author of the book The Boniface Option. They discuss Andrew's background as a pastor in rural Southern Minnesota and his decision to take over a small church in his hometown. They also explore the challenges faced by conservative evangelicalism in dealing with cultural shifts, the importance of preaching the whole gospel, and the negative impact of consumerism and materialism on society. The conversation explores the societal shift towards prioritizing personal freedom and material possessions over duty and responsibility. It delves into the spiritual disease that has led to this mindset and the social conditioning that perpetuates it. The conversation also highlights the impact of government policies, such as inflation and taxes, on individuals and families. It emphasizes the need for individuals to take control of their education and financial decisions to counteract the negative effects of the system. The conversation concludes with advice for individuals to focus on their families and communities as spheres of influence where they can make a positive impact. In this final part of the conversation, the hosts discuss the challenges faced by Christian men who wake up to the issues in the world but have wives who are steeped in feminism. They emphasize the importance of understanding the biblical roles of men and women and the complementarity between them. They encourage men to lead their wives in the right direction and to help them see the truth of God's design for marriage and family. They also discuss the interconnectedness of various cultural issues and the need to stand firm in biblical principles.
