Advancing Women in the Workforce with Rita Kakati-Shah

Today’s workforce is a mix of ambitious, driven people striving to accomplish their career goals. Nonetheless, the modern-day workforce continues to have conscious and unconscious biases. For instance, there are still biases against women who are looking to advance in the workforce. While there has been some progress in recent years, there is still plenty of work to do.

Rita is the CEO and co-founder of Uma, which is an organization that focuses on bringing talented women back into the workforce. It does this by working with companies and candidates alike, with the goal of helping women return to work after a career break, transition, or relocation. With biases continuing to plague the corporate world, Rita and her Uma colleagues are working to create and accelerate a more equitable workforce.
