Ep116 - The Redhead Murders

Ep116 - The Redhead Murders

In 1983, women with at least some red in their hair were found dead in multiple states. In 1985 alone, at least 5 women were found that have been tied to this series of murders believed to be perpetrated by an unknown male serial killer. This series has also been called the I-40 murders and the Bible Belt Strangler murders. Some of the victims in this series have never been identified and there are some that believe the series dates back to the late 1970s and may extend into the 1990s. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss this string of murders that have puzzled investigators in many different states. There are inherent issues that result from murders that happen in so many different jurisdictions. Different investigators have different theories and not everyone can agree on which murders are related. These issues make the job of catching the person or persons responsible for these murders even tougher. Nanette Krentel

Nanette Krentel

On July 14th, 2017, first responders found the body of Nanette Krentel inside her home, 50 miles north of New Orleans, after a fire destroyed it. Investigators soon discovered that Nanette was shot in the head before the fire started. A series of suspects emerged, and it was found that Nanette was afraid of one person in particular. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the murder of Nanette Krentel. Nanette's husband was looked at as you would expect. He was a fire chief and certainly knew how to start a fire, but the police cleared him. His brother was the person whom Nanette had told many people that she feared. But he seemed to have an alibi. The police did make an arrest in the case, but it wasn't because the person was suspected of having anything to do with the fire or Nanette's murder. To this day, allegations of corruption and sloppy police work surround this case.
