The Forgotten Witch Who TERRORIZED the Wizarding World for DECADES - Harry Potter History

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we'll be discussing a rather unknown but entirely notorious criminal within the wizarding world of Harry Potter known only as the Ginger Witch.

While not much is known about the heritage and early life of this mysterious enchantress, we do have a few facts about her origins and where it is she came from. But before we dive too far into what we know about the Ginger Witch and who exactly she is, let's first review HOW it is that we know what we do. Shall we?

Why No One Believed Voldemort Had Returned - Harry Potter Explained

Why No One Believed Voldemort Had Returned - Harry Potter Explained

Hey everyone, welcome to another instalment of Harry Potter Theory. Today, we'll be discussing why no one believed Harry Potter when he told the wizarding world that Voldemort had returned.Although a young 11-year old Harry encounters a form of Voldemort in the very first instalment of the series, it's not until three years later that he chooses to share with the magical community that Voldemort has indeed come back. The reason for this is quite logical, since the first time that Harry witnesses Voldemort during his time at Hogwarts, the Dark Lord has no human form of his own. He's this creepy shadow version of himself that feasts on unicorn blood and eventually takes up residence upon the back of poor doomed and misguided Professor Quirinus Quirrell's head. So...what really would he have had to tell? That Voldemort sneaks about on the back of people's heads? I mean, I suppose he could have. But really, many people already knew or at least suspected that Voldemort had never died and was not truly gone. So, it really wouldn't have been new information, but rather just confirmation that he was still skulking about...Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

CAN Muggle Parents VISIT Their Children at Hogwarts? - Harry Potter Explained

CAN Muggle Parents VISIT Their Children at Hogwarts? - Harry Potter Explained

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today we're discussing whether or not Muggle parents ever visit their magical children at Hogwarts. It goes without saying--and yet, I'm about to say it--that if you found out your child was a witch or wizard and was about to get shipped off to some magical castle out in the middle of the Scottish highlands, you'd WANT TO VISIT.First let's address the fact that it would be a bit dodgy to send your kid off to some castle out in the middle of nowhere, under the care of an elderly looking man with a super long beard who likes to dress in what looks to be eccentric multi-coloured pyjamas. Second of all--once you'd determine that your child would be quite safe at this "Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry"--you'd be mad if you DIDN'T want to see it for yourself. Imagine, discovering as a middle-aged adult that MAGIC IS REAL. Of course, you'd want to go.So, the question today is...do they get to? Do Muggle parents get to visit their children at the magical school of Hogwarts? The Most Powerful Magic LEFT OUT of the Movies - Harry Potter Explained

The Most Powerful Magic LEFT OUT of the Movies - Harry Potter Explained

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Now, lately I've talked a lot about Sacrificial Protection - an ancient, potent and enduring counter-charm that's invoked when an individual willingly and selflessly sacrifices themselves out of a profound and unadulterated love to protect the lives of their loved ones. And the reason that it's been brought up is that Sacrificial Protection is in fact a form of Ancient Magic- which has come to the forefront of many Harry Potter fan's minds through the new Harry Potter game Hogwarts Legacy. The idea of sacrificial protection is introduced in the first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, when Harry's mother, Lily Potter, sacrifices herself to save her son from Voldemort's killing curse. Her love and selflessness creates a powerful magical protection that ultimately results in the end of Voldemort's first reign of terror. But In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the concept of sacrificial protection is introduced once again and actually ends up playing a fairly major role in the ultimate defeat of Lord Voldemort. But this is all stuff you knew, what I want to uncover today is a lesser-known tidbit about this magic that may in fact have been the most powerful display of magic in the entire Harry Potter series. In fact, this piece of information was nearly entirely glossed over in the films.Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Why Did Snape NEED to Give Gryffindor's Sword to Bellatrix? - Harry Potter Explained

Why Did Snape NEED to Give Gryffindor's Sword to Bellatrix? - Harry Potter Explained

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we'll be discussing why in Merlin's Beard Snape would've given the Sword of Gryffindor to one of Voldemort's most devoted Death Eaters, Bellatrix Lestrange. Now, the question here arises since--in the end--Professor Severus Snape turned out to be, for lack of a better term, "a GOOD GUY". This means that in looking back on the series, there are certain instances that don't seem to quite add up. I mean, they certainly did at the time--so long as you believed that Snape was an evil Death Eater. But upon discovering that his true allegiance was to Professor Dumbledore, the Order of the Phoenix, and Harry himself, you begin to wonder why he did some of the things he did. And one of those things is why he would've given the Sword of Gryffindor--the weapon he knew was bequeathed to Harry in Dumbledore's will that could DESTROY Voldemort's Horcruxes--to Bellatrix Lestrange. As it turns out, the answer to this question is quite simple: he didn't. Severus never actually gave Bellatrix the REAL sword. Rather, he handed over a remarkably good fake version in its place, presumably hiding the real sword, and eventually giving it to Harry, Ron and Hermione in that icy lake out in the woods. But why give it to her in the first place? Why did he need to move the fake? Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

How Does Neville Get the Sword of Gryffindor? - Harry Potter Explained

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we'll be discussing how Neville Longbottom retrieves the Sword of Gryffindor from the Sorting Hat during The Battle of Hogwarts in The Deathly Hallows. The Sword of Gryffindor was, of course, once the property of one of the four founding members of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Godric Gryffindor. Made for him by one of the finest goblin silversmiths to have ever lived, as well as a King during his lifetime, Ragnuk the First, it was a stunning weapon that held magical properties in addition to the egg-sized rubies that adorned its hilt. WITHOUT These Books Harry Potter Wouldn't EXIST - Harry Potter Explained

WITHOUT These Books Harry Potter Wouldn't EXIST - Harry Potter Explained

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today we're going to be discussing 10 iconic pieces of literature that DIRECTLY inspired the Harry Potter story. These books are the primary influences and in some instances motivators that prompted JK Rowling to create the vast Wizarding World we've all come to know so well. Some of them are quite obvious, but others are remarkably subtle.I'll also add that Rowling herself has given acknowledgement to MOST of the influences featured on this list, however I will mention that there are a few which are simply analogues too similar to ignore- books published PRIOR to Harry Potter that contain elements which appear all too familiar.Let's get in to it.Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Why Does Voldemort Go to ALBANIA? - Harry Potter Theory

Why Does Voldemort Go to ALBANIA? - Harry Potter Theory

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we'll be discussing why in Merlin's Beard EVERYTHING in Harry Potter takes place in Albania.Okay, so that's a little bit of an over exaggeration because, of course, not EVERYTHING in the Harry Potter series happens there. The large majority of things actually take place in the United Kingdom, primarily London and the Scottish Highlands. However, there are a questionably large number of events that are set in the country of Albania, wouldn't you say? In fact, the country seems to come up again and again, year after year as Harry uncovers more and more about Voldemort and his ambitions to live forever. But why is that? Out of all the countries in the world, how is it that so many seemingly different events and individuals are all tied to Albania? Could there perhaps be a connection between all these unique instances and characters? I'm so glad you asked, because yes, I believe there is...Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Why Didn't Voldemort Realize Harry Was a Horcrux? - Harry Potter Theory

Why Didn't Voldemort Realize Harry Was a Horcrux? - Harry Potter Theory

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we're discussing how it's possible that Voldemort didn't realize he'd made Harry into one of his Horcruxes.Horcruxes are, of course, one of the darkest bits of magic known to the wider wizarding world. In fact, they are considered to be so dark and dangerous that teaching on the subject has been banned at Hogwarts for years, with even the Restricted Section of the Library barely acknowledging their existence...But from what we know, a Horcrux is made by murdering an innocent victim without regret. This horrendous act allows the killer to rip a piece of their soul from their body and place it into an inanimate object or living host. The theory is that if the killer were to die themselves, the Horcrux would survive, rendering that person immortal. However, the actual ritual of creating a Horcrux is rather unknown.Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
