The Forgotten Witch Who TERRORIZED the Wizarding World for DECADES - Harry Potter History

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we'll be discussing a rather unknown but entirely notorious criminal within the wizarding world of Harry Potter known only as the Ginger Witch.

While not much is known about the heritage and early life of this mysterious enchantress, we do have a few facts about her origins and where it is she came from. But before we dive too far into what we know about the Ginger Witch and who exactly she is, let's first review HOW it is that we know what we do. Shall we?

What motivations would he have had?..Let's dive in!Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Why Can't Muggles See Hogwarts? - Harry Potter Explained

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we'll be discussing how it is that Hogwarts Castle and the surrounding grounds are hidden from Muggles and the outside world. When we're first introduced to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry alongside an 11-year-old Harry Potter in The Philosopher's Stone, we learn that a once impoverished and deprived young Harry will be living in a spectacular Scottish castle of old. Described as a huge and sprawling castle that's seven stories high, Hogwarts is complete with one hundred and forty-two staircases, multiple towers, turrets, and even very deep dungeons all built in the Early Middle Ages. As the story progresses, we learn that Hogwarts was founded in the 10th Century by four famed wizards by the names of Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin, and that it is regarded by many as the best magical institution in the wizarding world.Sounds pretty impressive, doesn't it? But then, how is it that such a magnificent building--not to mention the sprawling grounds that include the expansive and magical Forbidden Forest--could go unnoticed by neighbouring Muggles? Why Did Quirrell Join Voldemort? - Harry Potter Theory

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we'll be discussing why the timid and rather innocent-looking Professor Quirinus Quirrell joined Voldemort and attempted to kill a young Harry Potter. As you may recall, throughout the Harry Potter series, we meet a many number of Defence Against the Dark Arts Professors. This was a position that seemed to be somewhat cursed at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, as no one witch or wizard held onto the role for very long. Indeed, as Harry makes his way through Hogwarts, we are introduced to a new Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor each and every year. Quirinus Quirrell was simply the first. To Harry and his fellow students, this dangerous-wizard version of Sirius is obviously quite terrifying. Of course, we eventually come to uncover the truth about Sirius. Why Can't You Say Voldemort's Name? - Harry Potter Explained

Why Can't You Say Voldemort's Name? - Harry Potter Explained

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we'll be discussing why witches and wizards were so AFRAID of Voldemort's...NAME.As you may recall, the first time we're introduced to the evil wizard who murdered Harry's family it is not as "Lord Voldemort"--or even the "Dark Lord"--but as "You Know Who" and "He Who Must Not Be Named". In talking with Hagrid at The Leaky Cauldron at the beginning of The Philosopher's Stone, followed by many other conversations with others in the wizarding world, Harry quickly learns that no one refers to this most evil of wizards by his actual name. Now don't get me wrong--being afraid of Voldemort himself makes plenty of sense. As one of--if not THE--darkest and most evil wizard of all time, the man was absolutely terrifying. Even before his appearance began to resemble that of a snake. I mean, he murdered A LOT of people--Muggles and magical folks alike. And what was truly horrifying was how little he seemed to care, killing off people like he was swatting away irritating little insects. What's more, is that a lot of the murders he committed or had his Death Eaters commit for him had little consequence. Sure, he killed a handful of people in an attempt to become immortal through the creation of his Horcruxes. But he also just...killed people. Period. So, to be afraid of the Dark Lord was, of course, completely understandable. But, the question today is why in Merlin's beard were people SO AFRAID of his name?Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we'll be discussing whether or not witches and wizards have made it to space!Considering the wizarding world's interest in astronomy--the natural science that studies celestial objects and phenomena--it's not too out there to think that witches and wizards may also have an interest in actually visiting space. Of course, whether or not they have, is an entirely different question....Let's get in to it.Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
