From Gary Shapiro, New York Times bestselling author and head of CES and the Consumer Technology Association, a manifesto for today’s top executives, entrepreneurs, and leaders: pivot or die.

As CEO of the Consumer Technology Association ®, owner and producer of CES ®, Gary Shapiro has had a front row seat to the launch of nearly every recent major technology. He’s seen tech companies rise and fall, and bankrupt entrepreneurs become billionaires. After more than four decades in the industry, he knows that leaders who make it in the tech world have one thing in common: they know how to pivot.

Drawing upon detailed case studies, economic theory, and personal experience,Pivot or Die offers a behind-the-scenes look at the development of innovative technology and business strategies. Along the way, Shapiro offers a “pivot” framework for leaders in technology and beyond to stay flexible and agile:

The startup pivot: how startups can shake up industries and maximize the advantage of new ideas
The forced pivot: adapting to the unforeseeable (or simply unforeseen) and meeting shifting consumer demands
The failure pivot: why failure can deliver better lessons than success and how to take those lessons forward
The success pivot: Beating the market by seizing opportunity and out-pivoting your competitors
In laying out each of these pivots, Shapiro shares unique lessons on how leaders can change minds and mindsets and steer their organizations to success in an increasingly competitive environment.

Children Do Come with a Manual: It is the Bible by Elizabeth Len Wai https://www.amazon.com/Children-Do-Come-Manual-Bible/dp/1960946579 Elizabeth-a-lenwai.com We wrote this book as a companion to our book on parenting to encourage parents and potential parents to daily use the Bible as a manual for the guidance and wisdom required in raising a child into a follower of Christ Jesus and a productive successful adult, as well as our manual for living a full, joyful and productive life while here on this earth in preparation for an eternal life with Him after his return. A friend of mine told me that in his opinion the Bible is; Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth, that has stuck in my mind, and I like that prospective even more as I unpack all of the information the scriptures reveal to me. Unlike most manuals this one tells us how it all started, what the intent was, what happened to change things from the initial intent, our history of rebellion, and what will have to be done to restore both us and this earth to its intended state and purpose.

The Chris Voss Show Podcast – Hollow Gods by Davidson Loehr

The Chris Voss Show Podcast – Hollow Gods by Davidson Loehr

Hollow Gods by Davidson Loehr https://www.amazon.com/Hollow-Gods-Davidson-Loehr/dp/1639888225 A combination of Kahlil Gibran and Dr. Phil, theologian and lifelong liberal Davidson Loehr brings a much-needed clarity to the reasons that liberalism has done such deep harm to areas including education, the media, politics, race relations and religion. The problem in all five areas is the fact that for two centuries, liberals have been sloughing off biblical religion with its supernatural God and mythical eternity in Heaven. But with what do you replace heavenly eternity and an omniscient God who loves you? For two hundred years, liberals have sought to replace heaven with a utopian socialism here and now, in which only they are in charge. Such a utopia would require the wisdom of an omniscient God. In place of that, liberals have put their own exalted, diploma’d, wisdom. Only degreed liberals are smart enough to replace God. But no, they don’t have wisdom-only arrogance and a desperate lust for power to replace the respect they can’t earn from other citizens. In Hollow Gods, we see and feel the terrible and deadly cost of failing to find adequate replacements for God, heaven, and healthy, responsible religion. About the author Davidson Loehr has always been a heretic. When he was six, his Sunday School teacher told the class a new story. It was called, as he heard it, “Trinadee.” He didn’t mind the God in the sky—Superman and Captain Marvel were up there, so there could be room for gods, too. And the god had a son—well, this is fine, too. Especially since they had a poster of this blue-eyed, brown-haired son right on their Sunday School wall, with a lot of little kids gathered around him. But then the teacher said there was this ghost. The only image of a ghost Davidson had was Caspar. Now Superman and Captain Marvel are one thing, but Caspar the Friendly Ghost was just silly. So when the teacher asked if they “understood” this Trinadee story, he told her that it wasn’t a bad story—though not one of the best they’d heard—but next time, lose the ghost. The teacher got angry, and enlisted the rest of the class to agree that they liked the story, ghost and all. Then she said “You know, Jesus doesn’t like little boys who don’t like this story!” “Well then,” Davidson said, “You can lose Jesus, too.” He was through with religion that day, until he heard an honest preacher fifteen years later: a Unitarian minister named John Wolf, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Here, he found religion that was honest, relevant, and profoundly challenging. A few months later, in January 1964, Davidson enlisted in the Army and was soon sent to Germany, where he attended a tough NCO Academy. He returned to the states the following year, and attended artillery officer candidate school. Later he was sent to Vietnam as a Lieutenant. There, he first served as The Vietnam Entertainment Officer, handling all the USO-sponsored shows and entertainers. All told, Davidson spent nearly four years in the military.

The Chris Voss Show Podcast – The Tale of Two Churches: Rise of the Apostates by Amos Dertes

The Chris Voss Show Podcast – The Tale of Two Churches: Rise of the Apostates by Amos Dertes

The Tale of Two Churches: Rise of the Apostates by Amos Dertes https://www.amazon.com/Tale-Two-Churches-Rise-Apostates/dp/B0D4862CKJ This book is designed as an instructional manual for anyone whoever said, “I do not understand what is happening in the churches. Why are pastors untrustworthy? Why are the members of churches acting worse than those who do not know God? And why is the church mundane and cold?” The author is taking a bold stand to address the elephant in the room. He reveals that there are two different churches on earth currently–the church of Jesus Christ and the counterfeit. Each church has chosen a platform to stand on. On the platform of holiness stands the church of Jesus, the true church. This church is managed by the Holy Spirit, just like the church of Pentecost. There are very few of them, but they remain holy and preach the true gospel of Jesus Christ. They show justice, righteousness, holiness, and confirm the love and power of God and the resurrection of Jesus by performing miracles. In contrast, the counterfeit church stands on a materialistic platform. This church pledges allegiance to a different master. It is selfish, lawless, and unjust. It rejects the power of God and has evicted the Holy Spirit. Its mission is to discredit the true Jesus. It has no ethics, no brotherly love. It prefers a feel-good, do-good gospel instead of the genuine gospel of Jesus and his apostles. It seeks power, prestige, and the love of the world. In the book, the author reveals that this rogue, materialistic, unjust, and unrighteous Christian church is the instrument of Satan, part of the false religion that will usher the days of the Antichrist. As its members infiltrate the true church, this book is a call reminding the true Christian to take a stand for justice and righteousness, to be sanctified, and to receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Go purchase oil for your lamp now because the window of opportunity is closing. Jesus is coming to take his own home soon, and those who do not have oil in their lamp and are not holy will not be allowed in the wedding chamber to see the king.
