Season 11: Episode 08: Candice Brown

Season 11: Episode 08: Candice Brown

This week I’m joined by Candice Brown, the winner and star from The Great British Bake Off, pub landlady of The Greenman in Eversholt, charity campaigner and all round great girl! We sat down just before the Christmas madness and spoke all about her experience on Bake Off, how it changed her life and catapulted her career, and the path she has travelled since.

Candice is brutally honest about dealing with negative press, online trolls and also opened up about her diagnosis of ADHD and dealing with mental health.

Candice is a real force of nature and a huge talent and I thoroughly enjoyed this no-holds barred conversation!

Season 3: Episode 10: Caroline Vreeland

Season 3: Episode 10: Caroline Vreeland

Caroline Vreeland is a force to be reckoned with. She’s a musician, a model, an actress, a muse. As the great granddaughter of the infamous fashion editor, Diana Vreeland, Caroline is carving her way as a multifaceted phenomenon. Not only does she own the aforementioned talents, but she first caught my eye through her evocative and sexy love of food. Her Instagram is dotted with suggestive and pleasing imagery of her favourite things to do: eat pasta and drink wine. My kinda girl!On this episode, she speaks to me from her bed in New York whilst eating a bagel – could I love her any more? We bond over tuna melts, big boobies, living an “unfiltered” life and our addiction to garlic. This lady is fun! I cannot wait to finally hang out and put the world to rights in person…. Over pasta and wine of course!  @carolinevreeland@crazysexyfood@hannahharleywww.crazysexyfood.com Music by @casnova____ This season of Crazy Sexy Food is sponsored by Keejays.Keejays is an independent, family-run business that has been making speciality sauces for professional chefs and home cooks like myself since 1985.  My particular favourites are the Spanish Tomato sauce, with its added paprika, as well as the Tai Po chilli sauce to rev up my meals! Order my favourites as well as the whole collection from www.keejayssauces.co.uk.Enter CRAZYSEXYFOOD at checkout for 10% off all products! Season 3: Episode 09: Shaggy

Season 3: Episode 09: Shaggy

What a nostalgic experience it was chatting with Shaggy on this episode! He wrote the soundtrack to my youth; his unique voice banging out tunes such as Oh Carolina, Mr Boombastic, Angel and It Wasn’t Me.He’s now back with a new album for the festive season, Christmas In The Islands, which features the likes of Ne-Yo, Beenie Man and Joss Stone. What a guy Shaggy is! We talk all things Jamaica, the future of dancehall music, his time in the US Marine Corps, his infamous turkey sandwiches and I embarrassingly ask him if it really “was him”. If you know, you know!Shaggy was incredibly open with me, discussing his feelings of success and how he actually doesn’t feel he's made it. This poses the question – what is success? This thought provoking chat really show's Shaggy in a different light and I can’t wait to properly catch up with him over a rum punch and a packet of Cheetos in the future! @direalshaggy@crazysexyfood@hannahharleywww.crazysexyfood.com Music by @casnova____ This season of Crazy Sexy Food is sponsored by Keejays.Keejays is an independent, family-run business that has been making speciality sauces for professional chefs and home cooks like myself since 1985.  My particular favourites are the Spanish Tomato sauce, with its added paprika, as well as the Tai Po chilli sauce to rev up my meals! Order my favourites as well as the whole collection from www.keejayssauces.co.uk Hosted on Acast. His Corsican heritage meant he’s grown up with a very healthy attitude towards food and different cuisines. He and his bandmates – who are his childhood friends, not only have the newly anticipated album, SUCKAPUNCH, coming out in January, but they have collaborated with the hot sauce brand, Lou’s Brews, to create their own sauce (also named after the album).Josh delves into his reasons for turning vegan, his incredible time in Thailand whilst they were recording the album and the craziest food he’s ever eaten (clue: it ain’t vegan!).Their SUCKAPUNCH hot sauce in collaboration with Lou’s Brews is available now exclusively at www.youmeatsix.co.uk @joshfranceschivi@youmeatsixofficial@crazysexyfood@hannahharleywww.crazysexyfood.com Music by @casnova____ This season of Crazy Sexy Food is sponsored by Keejays.Keejays is an independent, family-run business that has been making speciality sauces for professional chefs and home cooks like myself since 1985.  My particular favourites are the Spanish Tomato sauce, with its added paprika, as well as the Tai Po chilli sauce to rev up my meals! Order my favourites as well as the whole collection from www.keejayssauces.co.uk Hosted on Acast. Season 3: Episode 07: Jerrod Blandino

Season 3: Episode 07: Jerrod Blandino

Jerrod Blandino lights up a room, well – he lit up my laptop when he recorded in from California for this episode. As the co-founder of the billion dollar make up brand, Too Faced, Jerrod is also a fabulous baker thanks to his #BakeUpWithJerrod Instagram series. He and his husband, Jeremy, have the most beautiful house with TWO kitchens – yes two, which I ogle over. We bond over leopard print, clean kitchens, getting ready for a night out, as well as food! The half Italian beauty genius is a huge British Bake Off fan as well as hot sauce! I am convinced him and I have been separated at birth. This was a brilliantly fun and lighthearted conversation. Apologies, however, to the slight audio issues towards the end of the chat. Season 3: Episode 06: Lauren Mahon

Season 3: Episode 06: Lauren Mahon

Lauren Mahon is an inspiration. I hadn’t met her before this recording (well, technically I still haven’t as we recorded remotely), but I feel like I’ve known her for years.Lauren is the brainchild behind Girl Vs Cancer. The community, platform and merchandise brand that she set up after devastatingly being diagnosed with breast cancer at just 31. Her motivation to crush the cancer taboo amongst the younger generation is so admirable, and her energy is a force to be reckoned with! She candidly talks about her cancer diagnosis, how she handled it, and we both speak openly about the “cliffs edge” you feel upon receiving the all clear. I open up about my experiences of dealing with cancer when my brother was diagnosed in 2015, which felt enlightening as it was a conversation with someone who knew exactly what I felt and the darkness that came with the experience, as a family member supporting their sibling. We bond over crisps, specifically Hula Hoops and I think we’ll be friends for life! @iamlaurenmahon@girlsvscancer@crazysexyfood@hannahharleywww.crazysexyfood.com Music by @casnova____ This season of Crazy Sexy Food is sponsored by Keejays.Keejays is an independent, family-run business that has been making speciality sauces for professional chefs and home cooks like myself since 1985.  My particular favourites are the Spanish Tomato sauce, with its added paprika, as well as the Tai Po chilli sauce to rev up my meals! Order my favourites as well as the whole collection from www.keejayssauces.co.uk Hosted on Acast. Season 3: Episode 05: Kate Halfpenny

Season 3: Episode 05: Kate Halfpenny

It was the day before national lockdown 2.0 and I just had to get this recording in face to face! Kate Halfpenny is the founder and designer behind the British label and bridal brand Halfpenny London. Not only did she design my wedding dress (!!) but she has dressed some of the biggest names in the industry from Rihanna to Kate Moss, Erin O’Connor to Emilia Fox!Kate opens up about what a difficult time it’s been for the wedding industry this year; but don’t fret brides-to-be – she has been designing new collections all year!Aside from ogling over her stunning pieces in her Central London boutique, she discusses her upbringing in Derbyshire, her massively foodie family and her beautiful new outdoor pizza oven! She is just as big a crisps fanatic as me, and I cannot wait to get down to her stunning house in Kent to have lunch with her and the family whenever humanly possible! @halfpennylondon@crazysexyfood@hannahharleywww.crazysexyfood.com Music by @casnova____ This season of Crazy Sexy Food is sponsored by Keejays.Keejays is an independent, family-run business that has been making speciality sauces for professional chefs and home cooks like myself since 1985.  My particular favourites are the Spanish Tomato sauce, with its added paprika, as well as the Tai Po chilli sauce to rev up my meals! Order my favourites as well as the whole collection from www.keejayssauces.co.uk Hosted on Acast. Season 3: Episode 04: Mark Iacono

Season 3: Episode 04: Mark Iacono

You may not know who Mark Iacono is but you will now. Mark is the man behind the best pizza joint in America, Lucali. Based in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, Mark makes a truly delicious American “pie”. With simple but authentic ingredients, no reservation line and no liquor license, he operates a tight ship.He recorded from inside Lucali (which pulled at my heart strings!) and we spoke about life in Brooklyn, we debated over what should/shouldn’t be on a pizza and whether you’re allowed to use cutlery when eating a pizza! The conversation took a HUGE turn halfway through. (The original chat lasted 2 hours!) Upon rounding off and saying goodbye, Mark wanted to continue the chat and we went on for another hour! We also had quite a bit of audio issues, so apologies for that. In the plot twist, Mark honestly discusses the life changing incident that happened to him in 2011, where he was stabbed 14 times. It was a real honour to sit down with him. You all know what a pizza fanatic I am, so spending time with the magician himself was such a pleasure! I cannot wait to get back to Lucali! @lucali_bk@crazysexyfood@hannahharleywww.crazysexyfood.com Music by @casnova____ This season of Crazy Sexy Food is sponsored by Keejays.Keejays is an independent, family-run business that has been making speciality sauces for professional chefs and home cooks like myself since 1985.  My particular favourites are the Spanish Tomato sauce, with its added paprika, as well as the Tai Po chilli sauce to rev up my meals! Order my favourites as well as the whole collection from www.keejayssauces.co.uk Hosted on Acast. Season 3: Episode 03: Amanda Byram

Season 3: Episode 03: Amanda Byram

What a conversation I had with Amanda Byram this week. It has to go down as one of the most profound, connected conversations I’ve ever had, ever!Do you talk yourself down? Tell yourself you’re not good enough? That you’ve put on weight, your hair is limp, your skin is bad? Have you ever found it difficult to accept a compliment or even think everyone hates you because you can’t get a text back from someone? Even if there’s a mild yes to any of those questions, this episode is for you!Well known for being a TV presenter, Amanda and I talk about her new book The Switch, and delve into why we speak to ourselves in such a way, how we’ve been conditioned to NOT love ourselves, and she tells me how to banish these debilitating thoughts away. This was an incredibly honest conversation that saw me divulge a lot about the inner workings of my brain and how I’ve also had to overcome obstacles.I wish I had met Amanda earlier in life; she is a truly brilliant woman! @amandabyram@crazysexyfood@hannahharleywww.crazysexyfood.com Music by @casnova____ This season of Crazy Sexy Food is sponsored by Keejays.Keejays is an independent, family-run business that has been making speciality sauces for professional chefs and home cooks like myself since 1985.  My particular favourites are the Spanish Tomato sauce, with its added paprika, as well as the Tai Po chilli sauce to rev up my meals! Order my favourites as well as the whole collection from www.keejayssauces.co.uk Hosted on Acast.
