Confesses to Killing his Five Children | Tim Jones Full Length Police InterrogationTim Jones confesses to killing his five children in interview audio played during trialIn an audio recording of a police interview played during the trial of Tim Jones contains his confession of killing his five children.LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - After more than three weeks of testimony, a jury has reached a verdict in the trial of Timothy Jones, Jr., a Lexington County man accused of murdering his five children in 2014.The jury concluded that Jones has been found guilty on all five counts of murder in the deaths of his children. The second phase of the proceedings is the sentencing phase and that will begin at 8:45 a.m. on Thursday. Because the state is seeking the death penalty, the jury is now responsible for determining his punishment. The jury had four options for their verdict: guilty, guilty but mentally ill, not guilty by reason of insanity, or not guilty. Jones pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.A grand jury indicted Jones, Jr. in 2014 on five counts of murder in the deaths of his children – Mera, 8; Elias, 7; Nahtahn, 6; Gabriel, 2; and Abigail, 1. For Mera, Elias, Gabriel, and Abigail, the indictments state the children were killed “by means of strangulation and/or other violent means or instruments.”The bodies of the children were found in garbage bags off of a dirt road in Alabama. Jones, Jr. led authorities to the bodies after being arrested in Mississippi. Jones, who appeared to be under the influence at the time of his arrest, was questioned at the checkpoint by a Smith County, Miss. deputy about an odor of chemicals coming from his vehicle. After further investigation, the deputy found what appeared to be chemicals used to make meth and a street drug known as “Spice.” Investigators also said his Cadillac Escalade was blood-soaked and “smelled of death.”Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/true-crime-podcast-2025-real-police-interrogations-serial-killer-documentaries-and-911-calls--6015157/support.

Dad Discovers His Daughter Killed His Wife
Dad Discovers His Daughter Killed His WifeThis footage captures a chilling moment—a 19-year-old trying to cover up an unthinkable crime. Just moments earlier, Brenda was on a call with university staff discussing her daughter, Sydney, when something horrifying happened. When police arrived at the scene, they heard Sydney screaming. She led them to her mother but desperately tried to stop them from checking on her, warning about the blood. Then, she suddenly changed her story, claiming someone had broken in. Inside, officers discovered a gruesome crime scene—Brenda had been stabbed nearly 30 times and struck with a heavy object. Despite their efforts, she had no pulse. Outside, Sydney met her father, Steven, who had no idea his own daughter was responsible. Steven had received a call from the university earlier, informing him that Sydney was no longer enrolled. He planned to talk to her mother about it, but before he could, he got a notification that Sydney was home. His next call was from the police. He had no clue what had just happened. Meanwhile, Sydney played the victim—acting confused, lying down on the ground, and avoiding clear answers. Investigators soon found two murder weapons: a frying pan and a large knife. Officers combed the neighborhood, searching for witnesses, while inside the house, they found more disturbing clues—bloodstains, shattered glass, and footprints all over. Sydney’s arrest left one burning question: Why? Witnesses said she and her mother were incredibly close. Her childhood seemed happy—family trips, a loving home, and strong friendships. Even her college roommate, Lauren, vouched for her. But detectives uncovered a darker truth. Sydney had been struggling in college, something she hid from everyone. She had once been an excellent student, but her grades had dropped dramatically. When the university finally suspended her, she continued attending classes, pretending nothing was wrong—until she was caught. That morning, Sydney arrived home, and her father was notified. Shortly after, Brenda sent a voice message to the university, asking for the truth. When they confirmed Sydney’s suspension, everything unraveled. In a fit of rage, Sydney grabbed an iron pan and struck her mother multiple times. Then, in an attempt to stage a break-in, she stabbed Brenda over 30 times. Tragically, her mother was still alive for a while, but instead of calling for help, Sydney faked an intrusion—punching a window to create fake injuries and crying to sell the story. Later, it was revealed that Sydney had been diagnosed with schizophrenia, a fact she had hidden. Her defense argued that she lost her sanity during the attack, but detectives disagreed—pointing out how she lied to her father and the police, proving she was aware of her actions. In September 2023, Sydney was convicted of murder, felonious assault, and tampering with evidence for the crime committed in 2020. She was sentenced to life in prison, with parole eligibility after 15 years. However, with a new trial set for February 7th, the case is being reviewed again. Regardless of the outcome, this case is a haunting reminder of the dangers of untreated mental health struggles. When ignored, pain doesn’t disappear—it festers, sometimes leading to unimaginable tragedies. The true tragedy isn’t just the crime itself, but the silent suffering that went unnoticed—until it was too late.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/true-crime-podcast-2025-real-police-interrogations-serial-killer-documentaries-and-911-calls--6015157/support.
