Ray Flood served in NYPD's Emergency Services Unit which deals with high risk entry and rescue missions. Ray talks to us about how he joined ESU, the training, the equipment, and the mission. We discuss talking to, and if need be grabbing, jumpers on bridges and buildings in the New York City. One notable operation was when passengers got stuck in the tram that runs from Manhattan to Roosevelt Island. ESU successfully rescued everyone from the tram that night. Ed Kugler served as a Marine Scout-Sniper in Vietnam. After seeing action during the uprising in the Dominican Republic, Ed volunteered for Vietnam and was trained in the second scout-sniper class run in country. Francis Villanueva had amazing access to the Light Reaction Regiment (LRR) of the Philippines in writing his book about them called "Tiradores" which means shooters. The LRR is the Philippines version of Delta Force, trained by US Special Forces, they conduct some of the most dangerous and awe inspiring operations that few have ever heard about. The government deliberately attributes their operations to other units while the LRR remains in the shadows, until now.
