10/11: Russia hammers Ukraine with missiles for 2nd day. Multiple LA city council members are recorded making racist comments.

Multiple cities in Ukraine have been hit today, after dozens of missiles and drones were launched from Russia yesterday, with targets all across the country. Many hit neighborhoods full of civilians during rush hour. The Ukrainian government says at least 19 people were killed by the first round of strikes, and more than a hundred injured. In Atlanta, Senate candidate Herschel Walker gets help today from two Republican senators. A Senate debate in Ohio got heated last night, with Republican J.D. Vance and Democrat Tim Ryan both on the attack. In Los Angeles, the big political issue right now is a blockbuster tape recording that could force three city councilors to resign. Nury Martinez has already stepped down as president of the LA City Council and apologized for making profane and racist statements on that tape. The City Council will meet today for the first time since the recording was made public. The death toll in Florida is now up to 129 people from Hurricane Ian, and many people who survived are struggling to clean up after catastrophic damage. Officials say more than $207 million in claims have already been paid out by insurance companies. Statewide, the damage is estimated at more than $100 billion, but it appears much of that loss may not be covered. A new study has started a debate about colonoscopies. The study, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, found participants who were offered a colonoscopy had only 18% lower rates of colon cancer. An update to a CBS News investigation that found 400 children of elite Green Berets are waiting to get into childcare. Army families in the Florida panhandle say they have to drive up to 3 hours a day to drop off and pick up their kids, because their training camp has no childcare center. The Secretary of the Army says a new child development center will be built to help families of the Army's Seventh Special Forces group.
