ELITE RAYMOND and Kasper, Soderblom, Johansson's Uprising (ft. Jiri Fischer) - Jan. 29th, 2025

Lucas Raymond is elite, the youth movement has arrived in Marco Kasper, Albert Johansson, and Elmer Soderblom, and Hockeytown is buzzing.

Tune in as we open by discussing Dominik Shine making his NHL debut (00:00), and then getting into the Detroit Red Wings and their thrilling win over the Los Angeles Kings, including Moritz Seider's own goal, Lucas Raymond quickly getting it back and then setting up Alex DeBrincat, Marco Kasper's big night (looking off Dylan Larkin!), Elmer Soderblom's game-winner, and lots more as Todd McLellan's Red Wings made it 3 straight wins (even without Patrick Kane) (4:35). We then take a look at Detroit's schedule ahead, their wild card NHL playoff chances, and some thrilling stats for Steve Yzerman's squad since changing from Derek Lalonde to Todd McLellan (21:20).

Next, we have the age-old "is Lucas Raymond a superstar?" discussion, how he stacks up against the likes of Mitch Marner, Tim Stutzle, etc. (27:40), as well as the youth movement in Marco Kasper, Elmer Soderblom, and Albert Johansson, and what this means for their ceilings and future Red Wings (35:10).

After that, NHL news including Lilleberg's suspension for his hit on Compher (and nothing for Kucherov's trip on Rasmussen), the Vancouver Canucks, Rutherford's comments on Petterson, J.T. Miller, Quinn Hughes, and Brock Boeser, the Utah NOT Yetis (Mammoth? Hockey Club?) (41:10) before hearing from Red Wings Director of Player Personnel Jiri Fischer on an important charity hockey game and the impact his work is making (and how it relates to his story) (58:00). All of that and LOTS more before we take your questions and comments in our Overtime segment (1:10:55) - enjoy!
