Episode #244: Can't Take Away My Smile

CONTENT WARNING: This podcasts describes and talks at length about race, hate crimes, and objects that are related to said hate crimes. You may find this show and some of its topics, upsetting. Listen with care and take care of yourselves. - Dre
In this episode, NASCAR dominated the news as a noose was found in Bubba Wallace's garage in a chaotic weekend at Talladega. It's discussed at length as well as the race itself. The boys also discuss Alex Zanardi's awful accident, McLaren being in more trouble than it seemed, and yet more MotoGP rider moves!
THE FIGHT FOR MEANINGFUL CHANGE
- NASCAR: Sunday night - RPM crew member finds noose-like rope in garage of Bubba Wallace at Talladega Superspeedway
Monday: every person on every crew pushes Wallace to the front of the field pre-race (oh and the Geico 500 itself was fun)
Tuesday: FBI determines rope was there since Oct 2019; Wallace not the victim of a hate crime
- F1: Talking about the Hamilton Commission, and subsequently, F1's new #WeRaceAsOne campaign - and what that needs to accomplish
- Loose ends: Ray Ciccarelli, the Marko quote that wasn't, etc etc
#FORZAALEX
- Alex Zanardi suffers serious accident in Obiettivo Tricolore road race in Italy after losing control of his handbike down a hill and striking an oncoming truck
- Zanardi, treated for severe head injuries, projected to be in medically induced coma until next week; prognosis is "confidential" according to hospital
OTHER NEWS (we promise there's gonna be levity)
- MotoGP: New calendar is confirmed, media reports that Danilo Petrucci will join KTM for 2021 (presumably to replace outbound Pol), Brad Smith confirmed as Iannone's stand-in (but we probably knew that)
- F1: Uhhhh McLaren might be in a bit of trouble???
- IndyCar: Indy 500 sells 175,000 tickets that may not even be redeemed
- FE: Putting the "sex" in Berlin Sextuple; Alex Lynn back at Mahindra to replace outbound Wehrlein; and if all goes well, we have our first 2021 calendar
- Danish F4: 14-year-old second-gen racer Juju Noda wins from pole in first European race
- Formula Regional EU: Jamie Chadwick joins Prema!
