Dr. Kay grew up with different medical professionals in her family but she got her spark to get into the medical field from a Nunn at her high school career field. That conversation inspired Dr. Kay to become a pharmacist. After working as a pharmaceutical rep, she wanted to do more for her diabetic patients. That pushed her to go back to school to become a Holistic Doctor. She runs "Advanced Functional Wellness" which helps patients "Be Holistically Well from Head to Toe"

Dr. Kay turned a dream into a business with her non-profit. "Paint The Town Purple In Honor Of Jimmie" help provides housing for low-income cancer patients. The non-profit organization was created in honor of Jimmie Anglin, who lost her battle to Pancreatic Cancer, to carry on her mother's legacy.
