Poem: "Shipping Container" - Josh Lynott

The best piece of art I ever made,

It had no name, not even mine.

It shouldn't be there, they'd lock me up.

In the dark of night, under the street light.

I was in and out, within the minute.

Would it be gone tomorrow,

or is there more time I can borrow?

Let me make the people smile.

Give me white walls.

Walls need words

because that's how the world turns.

Gravity pulls on the heart who reads,

graffiti is the poor mans way to prove what the world needs.

Let the artist play,

give them a shot in the middle of the day.

I'll paint more walls with no names.

I'll change the world with my painting games.

Give me my paint,

Give me space to play.

I promise I'll make your day.

Book reference and recommendation:

Wintering - Katherine May. Excerpts read from pages 12, 13, and 14.

Questions:

- What is your brick? (5-minute daily activity to slow down)

- What is your ideal day vs your current day.

- What do you need to do to bring the two closer together?

- What is the cost of being busy with yourself, your relationships, work, dreams, goals, and health?

Journal prompt:

- What does it mean to move slow to you?
