NO BORDERS MEDIA News Roundup Podcast #1 (Prison Strike, Trump Resistance, Opposing the Far-Right, and more!) with El Jones (Halifax), Jaggi Singh (Montreal), Syed Hussan (Toronto) & Harjap Grewal (Vancouver) ----- Earlier today - September 9, 2018 - El Jones from Halifax, Jaggi Singh from Montreal, Syed Hussan from Toronto, and Harjap Grewal from Vancouver, got together by phone to talk about the news for the first-ever No Borders Media News Round-up Podcast. Some of the topics covered include the Nationwide Prison Strike, Trump Resistance, and opposing the racist far-right. Our conversation included blocking the Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain pipeline, a victory by disabled rights activists in Nova Scotia, the current Quebec elections, and resisting the Ford government in Ontario. We talked about confronting various racists across the Canadian state, from Proud Boys in Halifax to Pegida in Toronto, La Meute in Quebec to Soliders of Odin in Edmonton and Nanaimo. Internationally, we reference elections in Brazil and Sweden, as well as grassroots organizing by queer communities in India and elsewhere in former British colonies. Our conversational detours include Colin Kaepernick and Nike, the "woke industrial complex", and locking the doors of the McCain funeral to start a long overdue war crimes tribunal.
