AAMO 31 - SJR 8 Assigned A Hearing!

In this Weekly Legislative Update of the AAMO Podcast, we bring exciting news—SJR 8 has been assigned a hearing date! Thanks to all who contacted Sen. Carter’s office—your efforts made a difference! Listen to the podcast to understand the next steps (briefly listed below) as SJR 8 heads to the Families, Seniors, and Health Committee. This resolution needs your support!

HJR 54 remains stalled after its hearing, but its counterpart in the Senate (SJR 33) will be heard in the same hearing as SJR 8. The same steps need to be taken in opposition. Your opposition is needed.

A new AAMO Rally date has been set for March 24th, 1–3 PM, in the Capitol Rotunda. Thank you for your patience and grace as we rescheduled due to weather conditions.

Senate Support/Opposition Instructions:

1. Go to Missouri Senate Witness System. https://www.senate.mo.gov/senatewitnesssystem/
2. Sign up or sign in with your email and password.
3. Click the arrow in the committee box and select “Families, Seniors, and Health Committee.”
4. Click “Find Hearings.”
5. Click SJR 8 (scheduled for 2/26/25 at 8 AM).
6. Fill out the required information, check “Support,” and provide a brief statement on why you support SJR 8.
7. Do the same, but in opposition to, with SJR 33.
