Dragon's Back Race director Shane Ohly shares his FKT story (plus some event tips!)

Kitsquad is all about breaking down the barriers to low income families accessing the outdoors - if we donate our old running and outdoor gear to them, they check, clean and reproof it and send it to low income individuals families so they can enjoy the outdoors. Since launching Kitsquad in Feb 2020 founder Fran Pearson and team have supported over 200 people and taken in thousands of outdoor items ready to send out to less fortunate folk. To our knowledge Kitsquad is the only organisation doing this, and not only is this venture very noble, but it’s environmentally fantastic to recycle the kit this way too. Kitsquad rely solely on donations, both of gear, volunteer time and funds to cover the costs of cleaning and reproofing products, storing them and sending them out to those that need them. Can you believe Lloyd Watkin Patreon Lloyd Watkins came around 170th in the Marathon des Sables 2023 on just 2 training runs a week! Ok so he also did a tonne of hiking with his dog and a heavy pack on, plus lots of heat training (find out what a heat suit is, and Lloyds top 3 tips in this broadcast!) but only 2 runs a week - that's so doable isn't it!
