Rise of the machines?

Rise of the machines?

At the start of 2023 it seemed rising interest rates were putting an end to the golden era of tech stocks, but these companies have actually surged with the Nasdaq up 47 per cent so far this year fuelled by the explosion of interest in artificial intelligence.

This week David Thorpe and Joseph Wilkins are joined by David Coombs, head of multi-asset at Rathbones, to debate whether this AI-fuelled surge is here to stay.

They also discuss government bonds, where Coombs is decidedly overweight compared to his peers, and Coombs' approach of investing directly in stocks rather than funds.
