S2E25: Kumovis | The new ecosystem for medical 3D printing

On this episode of Start Up the Science we have the wonderful Miriam Haerst, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Kumovis.

The name Kumovis might sound familiar to those who have heard our episode with expert Marie Asano who expressed her love for this startup. After this episode, we can definitely understand her sentiments.

Kumovis enables the creation of medical products that bring outstanding benefit to the healthcare sector and especially its patients. Driven by the sector’s needs, they create new technologies, develop sound processes and provide materials.

The Kumovis R1 is the world’s first FLM 3D printer built for medical production. The R1 allows for 3D printing medical devices with materials such as PEEK, PPSU, PEI or PEKK while retaining original properties.

On top of all that, Kumovis also delivers a range of services including 3D printer installations, on-site trainings and medical product design, among others. This is how they are creating a brand new ecosystem in the medical 3d printing space and why we asked Miriam to come on the show and talk to us!
