Episode #12 Audrey Freshwater: Trauma Informed Educators Network Podcast

Audrey Freshwater is a National speaker on Attachment, Trauma Informed Care, Moving Beyond ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences), Child Development, Understanding Behavior and best practices for working with children. Ms. Freshwater is also a trainer for the Building Strong Brains curriculum developed by the Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth (TCCY). Outside of being a keynote and session speaker at conferences she also consults with programs, schools and other professionals regarding Adverse Childhood Experiences and best practices with children. Audrey Freshwater is the current Arkansas Deputy Director for Save the Children. She is the former Early Childhood Education ACEs Administrator and oversaw the Behavior Help team at the Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education (DCCECE). While at the divisions also served as the DCCECE ABC (Arkansas Better Chance) Program Administrator. Prior to her career with the DCCECE she was an investigator of child abuse and neglect and for 7 years was the Program Director for Williamson County CASA where she supervised over 100 advocates and over 700 children each year. Through her more than a decade long career as an investigator, working to understand and educate others on attachment and trauma, running a large advocacy program and testifying as an expert in the field she has cultivated a passion for our most vulnerable populations. Ms. Freshwater is passionate about the lasting impact teachers can have on children. She truly believes that our education field has the ability to change a child’s trajectory in life.
