What the heck are flying monkeys and how do they relate to a broken relationship?- Episode #77

This podcast like previous shows contains older recorded videos and interviews that you can find on my page at https://www.facebook.com/hopewhentherewasnone.

Flying monkeys?! What are these? I'm not talking about what you may have seen in the famous movie. I'm talking to anyone or everyone that are well-meaning or that turns a blind eye to the abuse. They may start the rumor mill, deny things happened to you, or this can be hurtful and devastating for you! There are two sides to each story but if a person knows you well enough they won't be charmed by your abuser. Here are a few things to try when dealing with Flying monkeys:

* Lose your temper you have power in your words and actions

* Leave the situation if you can

* If you are a person looking in consider verifying the information

** The blog post I mention early in this post is found here- https://bit.ly/34tkmcw and the Covert Abuse podcast can be found here- https://anchor.fm/melinda-j-kunst/episodes/Episode-34-What-is-Covert-abuse-with-Helena-Knowlton-e1170as

Someone out there needs to know they are not alone and that they can survive. Perhaps you are a parent or friend of someone trapped in an abusive relationship and need to know how to help. Message me privately for support or help. My goal is to share awareness, offer empowerment, and educate others about emotional traumas and domestic abuse.

This is the first of many episodes to come where I will share my story but also stories of courage and healing from Survivors, Coaches, to Therapists/Counselors.
