Stephanie Bednarek (Commercial Space Professional)

Stephanie Bednarek is both a space professional and a watch nerd. Her passion for space started early and she has worked in the business of space in quite a few capacities, both for government organizations and private companies. She realized she loved watches through a funny set of circumstances but has developed a diverse taste in watches that goes way beyond the models you're probably expecting (though she does still love a good Speedmaster). She also has a lot of thoughts about what the watch industry could do to get more women interested in the hobby and she’s not afraid to let them know. GPHG 2018 Preview (And Some Auction Talk)

This Friday, Geneva will play host to the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève, or GPHG, the most prestigious awards we have in the watchmaking industry. Winners are chosen across a variety of categories, including things like complications, sports watches, best watch under CHF 6,500, etc. We thought it would be fun to get a few of our editors together in the studio ahead of the awards ceremony to give our thoughts on the 72 short-listed watches, so Ben, Cara, Jon, and I each picked our own winners and debated the finer points of what separates the best from the rest.
