EP 108: One Mom's Struggle To Protect Her Autistic Daughter: The Chantelle Hyde Story

EP 108: One Mom's Struggle To Protect Her Autistic Daughter: The Chantelle Hyde Story

On this episode, Stacy and Torrin are joined by Chantelle Hyde, an anti-restraint advocate and mother of an autistic daughter. Chantelle is the Lead Canadian Volunteer with Alliance Against Seclusion & Restraint, an organization whose mission is to raise awareness and ultimately end the use of punitive measures against neurodivergent children, such as forced restraint and prolonged seclusion.

When Chantelle's daughter was first diagnosed, she became a huge advocate for ABA therapy. "It was the only road offered to me." Since then, she has worked tirelessly against the harmful practices of ABA, and to gain access to support services for her daughter.
