Nathalie Sloane welcomes Dr. Theoharis Theoharides, Professor and Vice-Chair of Clinical Immunology, and Director of the Institute for Neuro-Immune Medicine-Clearwater. Together, they explore the often-overlooked health risks associated with natural disasters, including wildfires and severe flooding.

Dr. Theoharides examines the impact of California wildfires on mast cells and individuals with neurodegenerative conditions. He also discusses the toxins released by red tide along the West Coast, drawing comparisons to the wildfire.

He also outlines the long-term health consequences of environmental toxin exposure and mold from fires. This discussion underscores the importance of preventive strategies and highlights the critical role of nutrition in mitigating these risks.
