As the sun dipped behind the mountains and the forest began to settle into its nighttime rhythm, we gathered near an old concrete pillar to hear a story that stopped us in our tracks.

Kenny, a quiet and grounded voice in the group, shared an experience he and his son had just yards from where we stood.
