Understanding Why Habits Are So Hard to Break and 3 Tips on How to Break Them

Today, I will be diving into the concept of habits, how habits are formed, why they are so hard to break, and I'll be sharing 3 of my favorite science-backed tips when it comes to breaking and starting habits. Habits are an automatic, redundant set of unconscious of thoughts, behaviors, and emotions that are acquired through repetition. When we engage in an activity repeatedly, we condition our subconscious mind and our subconscious mind makes up 95% of who we are and how we feel in every moment. Years of thinking the same thoughts and then feeling the same way that matches those thoughts leads to a memorized state of being. Then we define ourselves by this state of being by saying, “I have always been a perfectionist”, “I have always been a smoker”, “I have always been short-tempered”, or whatever it may be. And when we continuously identify with these thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, we are continuously programming the subconscious mind. So in order to transcend our limiting behaviors and habits and create new habits, we must learn to remain present; the present moment is where all potentials exist in the quantum field of energy. We must harness the energy of the present moment and change our brain chemistry through changing ;our thoughts, feelings, and actions.
