Understand the language of your nervous system and your body's signals

Understand the language of your nervous system and your body's signals

On today's episode of the Advice My Friends Ignored podcast, Audrey dives into the four states of your nervous system using polyvagal theory: Ventral Vagal, Sympathic, Dorsal Vagal, and Freeze.

Audrey explores what dysregulation in each state looks and feels like and how your body uses specific signals, such as thoughts, sensations, and feelings, to indicate your state and how your nervous system is trying to protect you.

Audrey also explores why talk therapy may not always bring the results you want, why going from feeling numb to feeling everything is a good thing, what creating regulation really means, and how to create more feelings of safety in the body to break free from living in survival mode.

If you struggle with feeling anxious some days to dissociated or hopeless other days, and you can't seem to find any consistency in how you're feeling, this episode is for you.

Be sure to grab a copy of the Nervous System Wellness Guide below, which is equipped with everything you need to know about your autonomic nervous system, how past stored trauma shapes present moment experiences, a list of regulating resources, a nervous system checklist, five guided meditations, two video lessons, and so much more!
