From the Olympics to Clinical Research

Pan American Games Champion, Olympian and World Championship silver medalist, Jennifer Goldsack, became a world-class athlete while working and studying at the University of Oxford. How did she do it? She recently shared her story with DPharm Director, Valerie Bowling, discussing the lessons she learned from her Olympic experience and how she uses them in her professional life at the Clinical Trials Transformation Initiative (CTTI). Ms Goldsack manages the development and implementation of Clinical Trials Transformation Initiative (CTTI) projects. In collaboration with team leaders, she creates project plans and budgets, and manages the implementation of those plans. She earned her master’s degree in chemistry from the University of Oxford, England, her masters in the history and sociology of medicine from the University of Pennsylvania, and her MBA from the George Washington University. Additionally, she is a certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality. Ms Goldsack spent five years working in research at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, first in Outcomes Research in the Department of Surgery and later in the Department of Medicine. More recently, Ms Goldsack helped launch the Value Institute, a pragmatic research and innovation center embedded in a large academic medical center in Delaware.
