On February 9, 2024, my husband and I boarded a plane heading to Arkansas, a place neither of us had ever been to before, to visit America's Most Haunted Hotel, The Crescent Hotel. Most people asked us what compelled us to fly halfway across the country at a really random time of the year, and I happily explained "The Crescent Hotel!" The Crescent Hotel is overflowing with history, and upon walking through its front doors, it is almost like taking a time machine back in time. The decor in the lobby looks almost untouched, minus the few updates like the vending machines and shops, but in its entirety, you are transported back to the late 1880s, and you are surrounded by beautiful furniture, antique and rare musical instruments, and just the atmosphere is overflowing with history ready for you to take in. It is almost like time stood still. You may or may not be greeted by the general manager, Jasper, who is probably busy napping away on the sofa in front of the fireplace. Please keep your voices down, he picks his own hours and usually works the late shift. He has zero complaints. From the brass keys to the solid wood doors and time appropriate furnishings in every room, no detail is missed. We arrived at the hotel with zero expectations to have any encounters with the resident spirits and were blown away by what we did experience and the history we learned. Shoutout to our tour guide, (name unknown), Travis in the restaurant, and the wonderful staff at the front desk.
