Curt and Greg Recap Day 2 of 2025 Indy 500 Practice!

Tonight, on Trackside with Kevin Lee and Curt Cavin, Romain Grosjean has a new home, this time with Juncos Hollinger Racing. The two talk about what this means for the team. More importantly, how Grosjean will mesh with Juncos and how he will mesh with his new teammate, Agustín Canapino. They also talk about Callum Ilott and his future in IndyCar. They also talk about who will be racing for Foyt next season.  Later in the first hour of the show, Kevin answers some tweets including one about Sergio Perez coming to IndyCar. They address the IndyCar game, and the possibility of more international races in the near future.  Kevin rounds out the first hour discussing Marcus Armstrong competing in the Macau Grand Prix F3 race, and James Hinchcliffe doing another Sky Sports F1 broadcast.  In the second hour of the show, Kevin and Curt talk about Indiana weather, NASCAR’s championship conclusion, and Carson Hocevar’s incident with Corey Heim where the two took each other out and cost. They also talk about how the final Cup race always ends with the top four championship finishers finishing one two three four in the final race.   Kevin and Curt talk to Jacob Abel midway through the second hour. Abel sheds light on how tough it is to drive around Sebring, the challenge of transitioning from an F2 car to an Indy NXT car. Abel looks forward at his goals for next season and where he will race primarily. Tonight, on Trackside with Kevin Lee and Curt Cavin, they discuss the press conference where Christian Rasmussen spoke for the first time since the announcement that he will be joining Ed Carpenter Racing. Additionally, they discuss the comments that Ed Carpenter made regarding the addition and then some of the other notes from the press conference. Kevin touches on the news that Callum Illott will not be returning to IndyCar. Later in the first hour of the show, Kevin and Curt tell you how you can contact them with questions you would like them to answer on the show in the future. They also dive further into Illott not returning with Juncos Hollinger with Kevin providing some context to the situation. In the second hour of the show, Kevin and Curt reiterate some of the notes that they briefly discussed in segment two of the show. They dive into a little bit more of the names of drivers that they were giving you to keep an eye on with Pietro Fittipaldi returning to IndyCar with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing. Additionally, they touch on some of the work that Marcus Ericsson has been doing with his new team. Tonight, on Trackside with Kevin Lee and Curt Cavin, they talk about Pietro Fittipaldi’s announcement that he is signing with Rahal for the 2024 season. The two also talk about Juri Vipps, and the role he will play in the team. They also talk about the health of the Juncos Team and Agustín Canapino, who will race for them again next year. The two bring up Ed Carpenter and who will take over the road course program for ECR this year. Curt and Kevin also talk about the overall pricing for the Thermal Club race and the scarcity of tickets.  Later in the first hour of the show, the two recap the Indy NXT test at IMS, and give some rundowns on who stood out. The two also talk about Jamie Chadwick and the possibility of her competing in IndyCar soon.  Kevin rounds out the first hour talking about the reason IndyCar pit reporters no longer wear fire suits, and F1’s hostility to an Andretti F1 team.  In the second hour of the show, Kevin and Curt talk to Helio Castroneves. Tonight, on Trackside with Kevin Lee and Curt Cavin, they discuss the rookie orientation that Kyle Larson went through last week at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. They dive into some of the things after he experienced driving an IndyCar for the first time, debate if Tony Kanaan would be Larson’s emergence driver if he misses the start of a race or must leave a race early because of NASCAR. Later in the first hour of the show, Kevin and Curt access the talent level of some of the other new rookie drivers after seeing how they drove in rookie orientation last week. Additionally, Kevin answers some Twitter questions from listeners giving him suggestions on how to better promote IndyCar. In the second hour of the show, Kevin and Curt discuss the journey Robert Wickens has been on with him winning the IMSA class title at Road Atlanta. They also try to predict who will be the final driver for some teams that have yet to be announced and get into some silly season rumors that Kevin has heard across all the teams in IndyCar, Indy NXT, and ISMA. The annual IndyCar rookie test is this weekend and Curt and Kevin preview some of the drivers who will make turn some laps. They also talk about Kyle Larson turning his first laps in an IndyCar at the test. The two looks at the weather conditions for the day and what to expect from the hybrid motor in testing. They delve into legal matters involving Romain Grosjean. Following that, they talk about where Grosjean may end up for next year.   Later in the first hour of the show, Kevin and Curt discuss Robert Wickens’ performance in the Michelin Pilot Challenge. Kevin gives an update on how the sports car race at IMS went over the weekend and how his son Jackson performed. Curt previews a new event coming to IMS that will really shine, and how the event will benefit the track. The two also answer some fan questions. In the final segment of the hour, the two talk about the announcement of a new NASCAR game coming out created by the iRacing crew.   In the second hour of the show, Kevin and Curt talk to Indy NXT driver Christian Rasmussen. Rasmussen gives us some insight on what it’s like to compete in the Indy NXT series, financial struggles, and his goals in motorsports. They also talk about NASCAR going back on the oval for the Brickyard 400.   Later in the first hour of the show, Kevin and Curt talk about the BC39, and how Justin Grant won it all after a rain out. They also delve into some silly season driver changes including a partnership between Arrow-McLaren and Juncos Hollinger racing. They also talk about driver changes that Arrow-McLaren may make at Juncos. They answer some fan questions as well.   In the second hour of the show, Kevin and Curt talk about Andretti’s bid to start an F1 team. They talk about the hurdles the team will face, but also talk about the positives and the overall likelihood of the F1 team coming to fruition. Later in the first hour of the show, Kevin and Curt dive into specific race dates and then the upcoming TV broadcasting rights for IndyCar. They look at things from the perspective of IndyCar and NBC. In the second hour of the show, Kevin and Curt discuss the news of Kyle Kirkwood being extended by Andretti Autosport earlier in the day. Also, Kevin is joined by USAC driver Logan Seavey to discuss his best racing career to date, explains what has led to him being consistently dominant this season, and the advantage he has with equipment because his team follows up with his requests. They discuss the comments Chip Ganassi made prior to Simpson being added to their team, highlight some other drivers that could be in play for the final spot with Ed Carpenter Racing, and provide an update on where things are at right now between Alex Palou and Arrow McLaren Racing. Later in the first hour of the show, Kevin and Curt question who returns next season in the NTT IndyCar Series will be.
