196: Summertime: Visual Temptation Is Everywhere — Here’s How He Can Stay Grounded and Help Her Feel Safe

Summertime can be one of the hardest seasons for men working to overcome porn addiction, stay sexually grounded, and rebuild trust in their marriage. With more revealing clothing and constant visual stimulation, many husbands feel guilt and frustration — while their wives feel fear, insecurity, and anxiety.

In this powerful episode, Sam Tielemans, licensed marriage and family therapist and expert in porn addiction recovery, unpacks how to handle triggers without shame, how to lead your mind instead of being led by it, and how to create emotional safety in your relationship — even when temptation is everywhere.

You’ll learn:

  • Why visual triggers aren’t actually the problem (and what is)

  • How to redirect your attention without suppressing desire

  • What real sexual mastery looks like (and how to build it)

  • Practical steps to regain focus and emotional control in public settings

  • How to reassure your wife and rebuild trust through open leadership

Whether you're trying to stop porn, navigate sexual triggers in marriage, or become the kind of man who stays grounded under pressure — this episode will give you the tools to stand firm like a pier in the waves.

125: He Wants to Move Forward, But She’s Still Hurting and Her Wall is Up

125: He Wants to Move Forward, But She’s Still Hurting and Her Wall is Up

Most people don’t want to stay in pain any longer than they already have. They want the process to speed up, to find closure and peace sooner, and move forward with a feeling of resolution… But what if she’s not ready to just leave it all behind? So many men want to leave the past behind as quickly as possible, because they recognize the impact of their actions has had a tremendous effect on their wife. He doesn't want her to suffer anymore than she already has, so in his desires to move forward, unintentionally, she feels left behind and her pain gets ignored. This produces a cycle of her bringing up the past so she can find healing, but the husband sees it as a lack of progress, feels discouraged, and then tries to rush the process along even more. If you've ever been caught in this pattern, in this episode I share with you one of the most important ways to navigate to move forward quickly while still making sure that the pain she feels is getting the attention and care it deserves.   For therapy with Sam: I'll help you quit porn within the next 90 days (or I'll work with you for free until you do) – visit stopporn.info to get more information.
