Botanical Biohacking (and what exactly is 'the natural viagra'?) - Andrew Miles #204

Botanical Biohacking (and what exactly is 'the natural viagra'?) - Andrew Miles #204

Biohacking is a theme on this podcast. Let me explain that. I look at cutting-edge hacks for improving your health and energy. For example, ever been tempted to spend a week in a dark room with electrodes stuck to your head? I did that recently, (so you don't have to.) But it turns out cutting edge often involves natural, non-pharmaceutical ways to improve one's performance, wellness, health and longevity. I'm always all up for natural solutions. So today... Discover the tradition and science of plant-based medicine to help you live stronger, smarter, and maximize your genetic potential Oh and what the botanical biohacker Andrew Miles calls the natural viagra gets a mention too. Check out his podcast, Botanical Biohacking. We recorded this podcast a while back and am thrilled to publish it now, Andrew really knows his stuff.

How To Be Better At (Almost) Everything - Pat Flynn #203

How To Be Better At (Almost) Everything - Pat Flynn #203

Want to become better than most people at most things? Author Pat Flynn has a philosophy he calls Generalism. He says it better to be better at many things, not best at just one. From there, you combine abilities to create a competitive advantage at anything you could want—a tactic known as "skill stacking." So the question is… how do we get better at almost everything…. That's the theme of Pat's book, so I asked him that question.

I was recently on Pete Cohen's excellent Mi365 podcast, and as part of it, we had a cracking sporting geek out. He's worked with many of the world's top sportsmen and women so it seemed like the perfect opportunity to combine my love of sport, my main job, and the podcast. So you've been warned, if you're not into sport, move along, there's nothing to see here. If you do like sport, I hope you'll enjoy this excerpt from Pete's podcast.

It's a new year, and me and Dr. Steve have got together to record a special podcast looking ahead to 2019, featuring some of the things that energise us most. This podcast is about energy, after all. You will hear about: An app that will energise you. A practice that will energise you. A theory that will energise you. A diet that will energise you. A gadget that will energise you. And lots more Happy new year, and enjoy listening. Also - bit of a milestone, this is episode 200. Zestology has been going almost 4 years now. 6 books you should read and one place you should go #199

Featuring epic books - both fiction and non-fiction. Over the last couple of years I've done a review of the year. But this year, I thought I'd do something slightly different, and summarise/review the very best books I've read this year. There are 6 of them - 4 non-fiction and 4 fiction. And there's also a place you should visit too. That's where this podcast was recorded. Check out my recent pics if you want a sneak preview of that one. Remember Zestology will be back on the 1st January 2019 with a special 2019 hacks episode with my good friend Dr. Stephen Simpson. 1st of Jan, see you then.

Healthy living, natural skin, and being primal. (Plus why real men use clay masks) - Andy Hnilo #198

Healthy living, natural skin, and being primal. (Plus why real men use clay masks) - Andy Hnilo #198

Covering healthy living, a natural way of life, and triumphing over adversity. He's the former Days of our Lives actor, Model and Skincare specialist who's founded Alitura, the skincare company. Why triumphing over adversity? Well, after a dreadful accident, a skincare specialist said to him: "You have the worst facial injury I have ever seen" What we put on our skin, really does go in. So it's time to look at that. He's used natural products to help his skin and face recover, and I have become good friends with Andy. I started by asking, why's it so important to have natural stuff on our skin?

The myth of 8 hours sleep. Sleep expert Nick Littlehales #197

The myth of 8 hours sleep. Sleep expert Nick Littlehales #197

The idea behind this podcast is you will potentially sleep longer, definitely sleep deeper and better and be more well refreshed the next day. How's that for aiming high? I think we can do this. Nick Littlehales is a world renowned Elite Sport Sleep Coach, has been redefining and innovating a new human sleep approach or as he describes it mental and physical recovery, for over 22 years. In this podcast he talks about the myth of 8 hours sleep. He's big into working with sports stars, and as you'll hear has worked all around with the world with some of the most famous athletes, including with the world's best footballer according to many - Cristiano Ronaldo. I'm sure you know who he is. Nick's helped him sleep better. In fact, he works with many finely-honed athletes and during this interview I asked Nick to think of me as one them. Which is very much wishful thinking. I started by asking him about the myth of 8 hours sleep.
