72 Words Can Change A Life Path with Dr. Danny Wood

Dr. Danny Wood is the senior pastor of Shades Mountain Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL. After graduating from Auburn University, Danny returned to Birmingham to work at South Central Bell (now AT&T). After a decade as a successful manager, he was called into the ministry and pastored several churches before coming to Shades Mountain.

In today's episode of Small-Time Leaders, Dr. Wood shares with us how words can make a huge impact on someone's life path. Dr. Danny recalls his early college at Auburn and how two fraternity brothers acknowledge leadership skills in him that he did not see and pushed him to reach higher milestones in college and changed his vision for his life forever.

For the last twenty-four years, Danny has strategically led the vision and mission of his church with his energetic love for people and the church's community. During this time Shades has conducted ministry in 50 states, 80 countries, and 21 time zones. They have supported 15 church plants internationally and 39 church plants in North America and have sent out over 200 people to serve in missions full-time around the world.

In January of this year, Danny announced his transition toward retirement which will be effective August 15, 2021.
