The UFOs That Shouldn’t Exist: Fictional Ships, Real Encounters

In this thought-provoking episode, we dive deep into the phenomenon of fictional incursions, cases where UFOs seem to borrow their shapes and behaviors directly from our collective imagination, pop culture, and folklore. From a Connecticut witness encountering a craft resembling the spaceship from E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, to theories about how cultural expectations shape what we see in the skies, we explore the strange intersection of fiction, folklore, and the paranormal.

Is it possible that our own minds, or even the stories we tell, play a role in shaping UFO encounters? Are these manifestations of a deeper intelligence, or simply mirrors of our cultural obsessions? And what does this say about the nature of reality itself?

We also examine the "lying saucers" hypothesis: that the UFO phenomenon is adaptive, elusive, and shaped by belief and expectation, not necessarily a nuts-and-bolts extraterrestrial craft. As Dr. Jacques Vallée once said, perhaps we’re not encountering beings from the stars, but something far more enigmatic and homegrown, entities that challenge our very understanding of space, time, and consciousness.
