This is a biggie!! All cards on the table, the question sheets have been ripped up. I went up to The Rudloe Arms and spent a day with the man, the myth, the legend, Mr Marco Pierre White, and all I can say is that it was one of the most profound experiences of my life.His generosity and honesty throughout our chat, as well as the day spent together is something I will never forget.He talks about his humble beginnings in Leeds and tragic loss of his mother at such a young age, his life as a chef and the reputation that came with it. And he expresses his love and admiration for the great Anthony Bourdain, also my biggest inspiration in life.Marco is a unique character; he’s a romanticist. I think my time with Pierre Koffmann has to be up there with some of the pinch me moments of my career. It’s fair to say that he is a living legend and I not only got the chance to record with him for the podcast, but was also asked to join him for lunch afterwards with his lovely wife, Claire! We recorded at the fabulous Spanish restaurant, Arros in London and talked all about the BBC’s Maestro that he’s just recorded, where we get to learn all about the techniques of French cooking via the man himself!
