Tom Pidcock opens up on GIRO results, Grand Tour pressure and his MTB future

Just one day after crossing the finish line in Rome to complete the 2025 Giro d’Italia, Tom Pidcock sat down with us in Salzburg for an honest, revealing conversation about the pressures, decisions, and ambitions that shape life at the very top of the sport. From the chaos of a three-week Grand Tour to the calm of a podcast studio, this episode captures a rare moment of reflection from one of the most versatile and compelling riders in cycling today. We delve into Tom’s decision to leave Ineos Grenadiers and join Q36.5 - a move that made headlines across the road cycling world. The conversation also dives deep into his Olympic journey, with Tom reflecting on the incredible achievement of winning back-to-back gold medals in mountain biking and what it would take to return for a third shot at LA 2028. We also unpack THAT move at the 2024 Paris Games that secured him gold against French favourite, Victor Kortetsky. But this isn’t just about wins and podiums. We also explore Tom's love for MTB and the sacrifices that must be made to be competitive in every discipline. We dive into what it actually takes to ride general classification in a Grand Tour, the mental battle of staying focused for 21 days straight, the sacrifices required to chase time on the world’s biggest stages, and the emotional highs and lows that come with trying to hold it all together under immense pressure. Whether you're a fan of road racing, mountain biking, or simply fascinated by the psychology of elite athletes, this episode offers a rare look into the mindset of a rider who’s redefining what it means to be a modern cyclist. Tom Pidcock’s story is still unfolding, and this chapter is one you won’t want to miss.
