314. Double Jeopardy at the World's End: Scotland's Angus Sinclair

314. Double Jeopardy at the World's End: Scotland's Angus Sinclair

It was a brisk autumn night in October 1977 when two best friends, Christine Eadie and Helen Scott, stepped into Edinburgh’s World’s End Pub for what should have been a carefree night of drinks and laughter. Just seventeen years old, they were out to blow off steam, pub-hop, and soak in the city’s energy. But as the night drew to a close, a chance encounter changed everything. On their way out, the girls struck up a casual conversation with two men—a chat that lasted no more than 25 minutes. Moments later, Christine and Helen disappeared into the night. They were never seen alive again. That ordinary pub, on that ordinary night, would be etched into Scotland’s darkest history—The World’s End Pub forever linked to their final steps. Like Whitechapel in the time of Jack the Ripper, or the Ford Theatre on the night Lincoln fell, The World’s End would become a place where tragedy and terror collide. What happened next would haunt a nation—and ignite one of Scotland’s most chilling manhunts.Join Jen and Cam on this episode entitled 'Double Jeopardy at the World's End: Scotland's Angus Sinclair."Listener discretion is by @octoberpodVHSResearched and written by Lauretta Allen, as well as myself.Executive Producers @theinkypawprintSources:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World%27s_End_Murdershttps://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-47524945 https://youtu.be/dNMTHwOrQK0?si=DbcL4bufbpxU60UShttps://youtu.be/5WcrDOim1Rw?si=C7jsagwsgwOKHwd0https://youtu.be/EoHghw36gpk?si=0n6DhReS29po3ZLKhttps://murderpedia.org/male.S/s/sinclair-angus.htmhttps://www.newspapers.com/image/1047423638/?match=1&clipping_id=172210762https://www.newspapers.com/image/1047422373/match=1&terms=%22Catherine%20Reehillhttps://www.newspapers.com/image/1047422301/?match=1&clipping_id=172210941https://www.newspapers.com/image/1047424653/?match=1&clipping_id=172211034https://www.newspapers.com/image/1048695564/?match=1&clipping_id=172211313https://www.newspapers.com/image/1048838948/?match=1&clipping_id=172211394https://www.newspapers.com/image/1048780956/?match=1 Learn more about your ad choices. Listen in for a glimpse of what a Patreon episode is like! The Alexanders were not your normal family. In 1940s, Harald Alexander dove deep into the German religious sect of the Lorber Society. This sect deemed everyone outside the religion was "dirty" so the family slipped away from society, keeping only to themselves. When his son Frank was born in 1954, Harald claimed he was the Messiah or Prophet of God. Everyone in the family gave into each and every one of Frank's desires.Rumors started circulating in Hamberg about the Alexanders and the police started coming to their house. This prompted Harald to pack up the family and move to 37 Jesús Nazareno in the town of Santa Cruz on Tenerife.Soon the Alexanders would be apart of a blood bath that would be known as the mosst horrific crime to occur on Tenerife.Join Jen and Cam as they discuss Carnage in the Canary IslandsPromos by our friendsActive Shooter The Podcast&True Crime DeadlineListener Discretion by the amaxing storyteller Edward of OctoberpodVHSMusic, Sound, Editing by the brilliant Nico of We Talk of DreamsExecutive Producer Dick VaneResourceshttps://www.tenerifeparanormal.es/2016/05/misterios-de-canarias-el-crimen-de-los.htmlhttps://www.rebelcircus.com/blog/can-you-consent-to-your-own-murder-a-look-at-the-facts/https://www.lavanguardia.com/sucesos/20190614/462856586476/familia-alexander-tenerife-harald-frank-crimenes-siglo-ritual-incesto-las-caras-del-mal.htmlhttps://radioactivity-mistery.blogspot.com/2012/08/el-crimen-de-los-alemanes.htmlhttps://esencia21.wordpress.com/2009/02/27/crimenes-esotericos-en-espana-almansa-y-tenerife/https://talent.paperblog.com/los-crimenes-de-los-alexander-162055/https://www.jakob-lorber-australia.net/about-lorber---a-modern-prophet.htmlhttps://www.universal-path.org/Lorber_Bookshttps://www.jakob-lorber-australia.net/the-shortest-path-to-spiritual-rebirth.htmlhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jakob_Lorberhttps://steemit.com/story/@sdd/the-alexander-family-is-the-most-insane-family-in-historyhttps://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=154718564932742&id=118409028563696 Learn more about your ad choices. Science has come a long way and has allowed humans to discover new diseases as well as cures for these diseases. Often it has often been, shall we say, not so forthcoming with what or how it practiced but even worse, it lied. It lied to those who had already suffered so much in American History. This is the story of how ignorance and blatant racism affected an unknown amount of people all without them even realizing they were being used a medical guinea pigs who would pay with their life. 54. Jack The Stripper

54. Jack The Stripper

When someone says Whitechapel, London and 1880’s, most people know they are referring to none other than Jack the Ripper. Jack was one of the first serial killers to terrorize with no reason and to this day remains unsolved--although many think they know who it is, it has yet to be proven. His killings have been covered with countless books and movies and have lead to more than a few copycat killings but perhaps the biggest one is one you may have never heard about. This brutal murderer killed more victims than his famous namesake. He was known as Jack the Stripper and the murders would be known as the Hammersmith Nude Murders. Join Jen and Cam on this episode of Our True Crime Podcast as we discuss “Jack the Stripper.” As always our listner discretion is brought to you from the amazing Edward from @octoberpodVHS.The catchy theme song and all editing is courtesy of the ever so patient Nico @wetalkofdreams.
