Taika Waititi's Judge Dredd: A Bold New Direction or a Risky Move?

Taika Waititi is officially directing a new Judge Dredd movie, with Drew Pearce (The Fall Guy, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation) writing the script. Both are longtime fans of the Dredd comics and are promising a return to the dark satire and heavy worldbuilding of the original 2000 AD stories.

In this video, I break down everything we know about the project, including the team’s goal to distance it from the 1995 and 2012 versions, their hopes for a Dredd universe, and whether Taika’s style can actually work for something this gritty. I also share my own thoughts—because let’s be honest, the Stallone and Urban movies still have their charm.
