Unique Approach to Solve Problem Behaviors (Tomislav Marcenic, English) Horses came into Tom’s life while he was still living in Croatia and working in IT. When his uncle bought a property there with horses, Tom began spending each weekend there just observing the herd and how they interact with one another. This Since 2022 he is living in Switzerland helping people communicate with their horses. People usually call on Tom when they have a problem with their horse. With each horse he begins on the ground to establish a connection and lets horse know it must not be afraid of the human. Many horses that “have a problem” have been traumatised by humans and are simply scared, which people often label as disrespectful behaviour. Tom always wants to work with the horse and its owner, else any changes he brings about in the horse won’t last. Once he rehabilitated a traumatised horse after it had broken its leg while jumping, but the owner did not want to be part of the change. Eight months later she brought him the same horse after it had broken its withers while trailer loading and even then she refused to be part of the change. This sadly unfortunate situation, demonstrates how essential the human is to the horse’s ability to heal. Even today Tom's best tip is to go to your horse (in the box or herd) and to read a book. Most people invest money in their horse, but not time to just be with their horse. Usually we focus on doing something all the time when we are with our horse and this can be quite intense for a prey animal.
