Kelvin Kiptum, the marathon world record holder of Kenya aged 24 has died in a road accident alongside his coach, Gervais Hakizimana of Rwanda who was the national record holder in the steeplechase. Kiptum burst onto the athletics scene with his record debut in the 2022 Valencia Marathon in 2:01:35, then went to set the course record at the 2023 London Marathon in 2:01:25 before becoming the first man to run under two hours and one minute with his performance of 2:00:35 at the 2023 Chicago Marathon, which was just ratified as the world record just last week. Ed Trippas took out the Steeplechase in 8:32.24 ahead of Gudefaye Adugnaw of Ethiopia and Liam Cashin, with Matt Clarke withdrawing midrace. Abby Caldwell took out the 800m in 2:00.83 ahead of Bendere Oboya. Cam Myers ran 3:34.55 in the 1500m for a meet record, Jesse Hunt and Jye Edwards. Claudia Hollingsworth ran an U20 national record and meet record in 4:04.45 ahead of OAC teammate Maudie Skyring and Aynadis Mebratu of Ethiopia. Adelaide Invitational Results   Josh Kerr breaks the indoor two mile World Record running 8:00.67 at the Millrose Games, New York ahead of Grant Fisher who ran the American National Record in 8:03.62, while Morgan McDonald was 5th in 8:12.01. Jess Hull ran a new Indoor National Record of 4:19.03 in the Wanamaker Mile behind winner Elle St. Pierre, herself running an American National Record of 4:16.41.
