114: Michael Smith | Boston Celtics | Perry Jones III Trade | NBA Off-Season

Another week, another trade for the Boston Celtics.  A veteran last week, this week they have agreed to a deal in principle with the Oklahoma City Thunder for forward Perry Jones III.  Risk-free pick-up or detrimental to team building? LHR gives reasons as to why he’s not all too thrilled with the move.  What about your take on the trade? That is our Reacht Question of the Week Michael Smith of Prime Ticket/FOX Sports will return to the show to cap off the discussion on the now famed DeAndre Jordan fiasco.  First off, what should the NBA do about its moratorium period? And where does this leave the Los Angeles Clippers amongst the best in the NBA West? LHR goes Around the NBA in 5 as well.  So check out this week’s edition of Celtics Beat being presented by lynda.com/clns,  audiblepodcast.com/celtics, Dr. Ron’s Ultra Pure, Casper, and American Farmer’s Network.  Available for download on iTunes and Stitcher Sunday, July 19, 2015.  Powered by CLNS Radio. 113: Amin Elhassan | Tom Westerholm | Boston Celtics | NBA Offseason

The hunk of free agency has come and gone as we now possibly shift into trade season.  The Boston Celtics still need to round out their roster and may have begun that process by trading for Golden State Warriors big man David Lee.  Where does he fit in the rotation? That is our Reacht Question of the Week   But the real question is: Are the Celtics done? And what about the rest of the NBA, what can we expect now as the off-season motors along? Celtics Beat and CLNS Radio welcomes ESPN’s Amin Elhassan and MassLive’s Tom Westerholm to the show to discuss all things NBA and Celtics.   Tune into this week’s edition of Celtics Beat being presented by lynda.com/clns,  audiblepodcast.com/celtics, Dr. Ron’s Ultra Pure, Casper, and American Farmer’s Network.  Available for download on iTunes and Stitcher Sunday, July 12, 2015.  Powered by CLNS Radio. 112: Sean Deveney | Boston Celtics | Amir Johnson | NBA Off-Season

112: Sean Deveney | Boston Celtics | Amir Johnson | NBA Off-Season

From the NBA season to the off-season: amassing the roster for the 2016 Boston Celtics and other NBA teams has begun.  Free agency kicked off back on Wednesday and the Celtics struck with Toronto Raptors Amir Johnson while also re-upping Jonas Jerebko and Jae Crowder.   Yay or Nay? Larry H. Russell gives it a meh while also talking many fans off the bridge.  The Celtics rainy day fun is still loaded and it turns out that certain options just didn’t present themselves.  There’s no reason to be upset but unfortunately the patience must continue.  In the mind of one LHR, he doesn’t think that Boston being unable to land a big fish is an indictment on Boston but what do you think? That is our Reacht Question of the Week   Sean Deveney of Sporting News will be back to discuss all that transpired and what lies ahead for the Celtics.  Attention now turns to the trade market to fill out the roster of the roster.  What are potential targets for the Celtics and what does Sean think of the Celts off-season thus far?   Not a bad week to go Around the NBA in 5 either.  Tune into this week’s edition of Celtics Beat being presented by lynda.com/clns,  audiblepodcast.com/celtics, Dr. Ron’s Ultra Pure, Casper, and American Farmer’s Network.  Available for download on iTunes and Stitcher Sunday, July 5, 2015.  Powered by CLNS Radio. 111: Scott Souza | NBA Draft | Boston Celtics | Cleveland Cavaliers v Golden State Warriors | Boston Celtics NBA Off-Season

The 2015 NBA Draft crept right up on us and has now left us.  What many expected to be an active night for the Boston Celtics did not produce as such.  The Celts ended up using all four selections, picking up Terry Rozier, R.J. Hunter, Jordan Mickey, and Marcus Thornton.  Will they be on the 2016 Celtics come September? That’s a major question mark.  We’re also giving our audience a chance to grade this year’s draft for the C’s in our Reacht Question of the Week   LHR will break Thursday night down with MetroWest Daily News Boston Celtics beat writer, Scott Souza.  Quite simply, how did the Celtics do and where do they go from here? Around the NBA in 5 is back as well.  Suffice to say there will be a lot to go Around the NBA about.  So check out this week’s edition of Celtics Beat being presented by lynda.com/clns,  audiblepodcast.com/celtics, Dr. Ron’s Ultra Pure, Casper, and American Farmer’s Network.  Available for download on iTunes and Stitcher Sunday, June 28, 2015.  Powered by CLNS Radio. 110: Gery Woelfel | NBA Finals | LeBron James | Cleveland Cavaliers v Golden State Warriors | Boston Celtics NBA Off-Season

Alas the 2015 is in the books: The Golden State Warriors are the world champions of basketball after defeating the LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in six games.  Andre Igoudala may won the MVP, but host Larry H. Russell feels LeBron was more than worthy even in a losing effort.  And is this Warriors team one of the NBA’s all-time best? That is our Reacht Question of the Week   And now the NBA off-season is officially underway.  LHR will be joined by Gery Woelfel - NBA Insider for the Racine Journal Times to discuss all things NBA and of course,  yes, Boston Celtics basketball! 109: Jim Barnett | NBA Finals | LeBron James | Cleveland Cavaliers v Golden State Warriors | NBA

The NBA Finals has lived up to the expectations.  LeBron James has carried the Cleveland Cavaliers and the series is tied as it heads back to Oakland with Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors having the home court advantage in two of the next three.  Who will take the series from here? That is our Reacht Question of the Week   Warriors color commentator Jim Barnett of CSN Bay Area will stop by to discuss this riveting series.  How will the Cavs adjust to Golden State going small? Or is it the W’s who still need to adjust to the great LeBron James? And what legacy is more on the line: The single season greatness of the 2015 Golden State Warriors or LeBron’s place in NBA history?   Around the NBA in 5 is back as well, with plenty of talk...around the NBA!
