Episode 1: Introduction and How to Use this Podcast

Episode 1: Introduction and How to Use this Podcast

A quick introduction, how to use this podcast and tips to learn!

Tips:

  1. Mandarin is a tonal language, so repeat these phrases exactly as I say them, paying specific attention to the inflection of my voice.
  2. Feel free to repeat podcasts multiple times. In my own experience, learning new phrases takes repeated listening and speaking up to 5-10 times.
  3. Do these lessons everyday. Each day you miss will set you back at least 3 days.
  4. Don’t worry too much about grammar, writing or reading. Focus on getting words out of your mouth. Introduce muscle memory and make the mistakes now, so you make fewer later.
  5. Anyone can learn a language at any age!
