The Case of Alexis Avila

In January of 2022, a shocking case out of New Mexico stunned the nation. Surveillance cameras captured 18-year-old Alexis Avila tossing her newborn baby into a dumpster... alone, wrapped in a dirty towel, and left for dead. The footage went viral, sparking outrage, heartbreak, and fierce debates about teen pregnancy, mental health, and justice. Miraculously, the infant was later found alive by chance, but the story of how this happened, and what came next, would haunt an entire community.

Today, we’re diving deep into the disturbing case of Alexis Avila: the night she abandoned her child, the trial that followed, and the questions that remain about accountability and survival.
