Hello, I’m Jay Nicoll of Nicoll Investigations and I’m here to tell you about our next episode of Ontario Cold Cases - The Podcast, coming this Sunday, January 21st.

On Friday, October 1st 1971, Kathy Potter and Lee Kirk ate supper with their foster family on Rochell Crescent in Toronto. At about 6:30 p.m., they left home and were dropped off at the bus stop at the corner of Yonge Street and Finch Avenue in Toronto. The two girls were going to visit Lee Kirk’s biological father in Richmond Hill. The girls never made it to their destination and were not seen again until Sunday, October 3rd, when their bodies were found in a gravel pit in Pickering, Ontario.

On Feb. 11, 1966 – Michael Kent, 6, of Port McNicoll, was found stabbed to death next to the Elmvale Community Centre at approximately 8:40 p.m. Michael and his family had gone to the arena that evening to watch his brother play in a hockey game. At some point, as the family was milling about in the lobby, Michael became separated from his mother, and was either lured or dragged outside to the side of the arena where he was stabbed. The murder weapon was later found on the roof of the arena, but it did not yield fingerprints.

May 1, 1989 – Joanne Foley, 23, was last seen when she was staying with friends in Port McNicoll. She had indicated she was planning on going to western Canada, but there is no indication that she travelled there. She has had no contact with friends or relatives since 1989.
