Profit is evil. Right?

Some have said it, others have thought it: as Seventh-day Adventist Christians, we should not care about money. Profit is worldly. We need to share the Three Angels' Messages and not talk about profit. But can we really separate the one from the other? Can profit also be good - and actually important for God's work?

Listen to Jesse Zwiker, founder of Hyve and discover the hidden lie behind profitability. It became prominent in the mid-evil time period when the Catholic church made monks swear an oath of poverty. It became evident when the church collected exorbitant amounts of money from the population, claiming that one can buy his or her way out of purgatory. But the Bible tells us something else: "... remember that it is the LORD your God who gives you the power to gain wealth, in order to confirm His covenant..." - Deuteronomy 8:18. "The desire to accumulate wealth is an original affection of our nature, implanted there by our heavenly Father for noble ends." - CS148

So why is profit important?

Profit makes you survive crises.
Profit allows you to make your product/service more professional & missional.
Profit gives you the chance to reinvest and make market research.
Profit allows you to donate and collaborate more.
Profit allows you to scale and spread the Gospel faster.
