The One Question to Shift from Self-Blame to Self-Kindness at Home | Mindset & Mom Life

The One Question to Shift from Self-Blame to Self-Kindness at Home | Mindset & Mom Life

Welcome back to the Kind Organizing Podcast! I'm so glad you're here. In this quick car chat episode, I'm sharing a new and better question I've been asking myself when I catch myself being hard on myself in my home or daily life.

If you've ever felt that inner critic whispering, "What's wrong with me?" when something small goes wrong—like trying to assemble Ikea furniture or forgetting to put a trash liner in the bin—I want you to know you're not alone. I'll tell you about a moment recently with the trash liner that opened my eyes to how self-compassion can transform these everyday frustrations.

Instead of asking, "Why do I always mess up?" I started asking, "How can I make this easier on myself?" And that gentle shift in mindset made a huge difference. I'll share why this question invites kindness and opens the door to simple solutions we might never have considered before.

Plus, I'll talk about how this mindset can help with things like running late, managing kids' shoes at the door, or any other small pain points that add up to daily stress.

I'd love for you to try out this question this week and see what comes up. Remember, you are worth that kindness, and it's okay to be on the same team with yourself.

You can find me on Instagram @kindorganizing, and don't forget to check out the Kind Home Shop for courses & resources and stay tuned for a new cozy product... ;)

Thanks for listening — sending you a big hug until next time!
