The Breakdown Ep.17 - Yemen: Then and Now

We’ve all heard about the horrifying situation in Yemen right now. Millions of children in need of aid, families torn apart and infrastructure obliterated. Yemen is currently on its knees. But do we actually know why this is happening? What are the origins of this crisis? Why are the Saudis launching such an aggressive attack on the country? Join us with @hujjatalim, author of ‘Baldatun Tayyibatun – A Land Most Goodly’, a book written during the crisis relaying the major significance of Yemen in early Islamic history such that the Prophet (s.a.w) said ‘If I had not migrated to Medina, I would have been of the people of Yemen.’ In this podcast, Sheikh takes us back in time as we discuss the major role Yemen had to play in spreading Islam during its infancy, as well as dissecting the current crisis this holy land is now facing.
